Jesus forgives and heals a paralyzed man (2:1–12), then calls Levi and shares a meal with sinners (2:13–17). He is questioned about fasting (2:18–22), and reveals that He is Lord of the Sabbath (2:23–28). On the Sabbath, Jesus heals a man with a withered hand (3:1–6), and great crowds follow Him from every region (3:7–12). Finally, Jesus appoints the Twelve, those He chooses to be with Him and to send out in His name (3:13–19).
